Transforming Lives Through the Power of the Spirit
The SFL series is structured as a single, logical path for your spiritual development. It moves from settling your spiritual house upon the firm foundation of security and assurance to the formational practice of developing the very character of Christ and cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit in your daily life, and finally to learning how to live out Christ’s Great Commission and the Great Commandment as you serve God’s kingdom and live in sync with Christ as your King. The series is designed to systematically dismantle the performance mindset and equip you with the knowledge and power to actively pursue genuine Christlikeness.
The Work of the Holy Spirit anchors of our hope to what truly matters. Its core purpose is to establish your assurance and justification in Christ by focusing on the Spirit's objective work and function in the life of every believer.
The Work of the Holy Spirit explores how the Holy Spirit transitions you from death to life. We look at how God chose you and set you aside for His purpose. We examine how His Spirit made you into something new through a process called regeneration, and the once-for-all Baptism of the Spirit that unites you to the Body of Christ. You will learn that your salvation is permanently secured by the Spirit's role as your down payment (or guarantee), ensuring that God will complete the good work He is already doing in you (Eph 1:14). You will know, without a doubt, that your standing before God is safe and is being directed by His hand toward His plans and purposes for you. Learn more...
With an understanding of the Holy Spirit’s role alongside the Father and the Son, you can begin to understand how the Spirit prepares you from the point of salvation for a spiritual journey that will last throughout your entire existence. This book moves to describe how we have a part of Christ in us and how we can grow to be more like Him every day as we pursue holiness and practice the very character of Christ. This defines the divine-human partnership at the heart of Christian maturity, showing that growth is a synergistic process: a true co-working with the Spirit.
This daily practice of walking in the Spirit helps you to understand how you can be more connected with Christ as you learn to cultivate the seed of His character, planted within you from the moment you chose Christ. You become a caretaker and tender of the love, joy, peace, and patience of Christ that is developing within you as Christ abides within you through His Spirit. The solution that is already within your grasp is the Spirit's efficacy through your active response, broken down into two practical actions: mortification (putting to death the old nature) and vivification (putting on the Fruit of the Spirit). The goal is to see Christ's character mature within you as you engage with it and practice a new way of living. This new way of living helps to prepare you for the spiritual battle that already surrounds you and equips you to meet the battle with the appropriate tools of spiritual warfare. Learn more...
The final book in the series moves into practical ministry. You were saved for a purpose, with a plan in mind, and with a task set before you from the moment you chose to follow Christ. This book links your sanctified character to the church’s corporate mission. We will define the Spirit’s equipping work—the spiritual Gifts—while holding the truth that character is the ultimate measure of the Spirit’s presence, not function. Character and mission are inseparable; you cannot effectively represent Christ to the world if His character is not evident in your life.
This book defines the spiritual Gifts and describes how the Body of Christ (the church) serves as the context for service. This book ultimately calls you into Christ’s GC2 Mandate: living out the Great Commandment (Love for God and Neighbor) as the heart and motive for fulfilling the Great Commission (Make Disciples as you Go).
